Chapter 18Chapter 18
The cans started shaking violently! Then suddenly the tops popped open!
Wow! I said in great surprise, Now we just need some heat. Hey Johnny your Typhlosion can take care of that cant it?
Johnny was stunned that I asked him. In an obvious fumble to come up with an answer he said, T-typhlosion? O-oh, hes uhh sick! Yeah, sick. Hes been sick since we got here.
Really ? I didnt realize I mean after all I havent seen him since we left.
Yeah well hes sick so I guess well just have to make a fire ourselves.
Okay, okay. Dont bite my head off! Could you at least get some firewood then?
Fine. Ill be back in a bit.
I got some rocks together and put them in a circle to mark where the fire will be. The circle of stones reminded me of when I put Swampert into the pokéball.
I wonder if Swampert is hungry too. I th
Chapter 17Chapter 17
Johnny seemed as though he didnt wanna talk about it.
Yeah Well to be completely honest I dont know I just woke up in these woods Anyways come with me I found an abandoned cabin over there. We could use it as a shelter for now. Johnny suggested.
Sounds like a good idea. I agreed.
We started for the cabin right away. The whole time we were walking Latias was behind me hiding its face behind my back. I could tell Johnny noticed, he had looked back at Latias quite a few times with a bewildered look. After a while I guess the obvious question that was burning in his mind had to be spoken.
Just what is up with that Latias? Its not like Im gonna hurt it or anything! Sheesh! Johnny shouted with obvious frustration.
Johnnys yelling made Latias jump in surprise and hang its head in shame.
Hey! Dont be so mean to Latias! Its obvious that its just shy of other people &
Chapter 16Chapter 16
Out of nowhere, the pokéball containing Latias in my pocket started glowing and shaking violently!
Great more surprises! I groaned.
The pokéball shook so violently it actually leapt out of my pocket and opened up on its own!
Laa! came a voice from where the pokéball once stood.
Latias! I said in a mixture of amazement and relief.
As quick as it appeared, Latias shot a ball of mist at the Graveler and knocked it out!
Great job Latias! I shouted in praise.
Latias blushed and scratched the back of its head. Swampert just grunted and stuck its nose into the air.
Hey! Whats your problem!?! I coulda been seriously injured just then! Why did you just sit there and watch? I yelled furiously at Swampert.
Swampert just gave me a very stern stare.
Fine, if thats it then just get back into your pokéball.
Swampert did nothing. It just sat there and stared at me.
Hey whats a
Chapter 15Chapter 15
We all followed my dad down to the basement.
Whats so important down here? A bunch of cobwebs? asked Johnny sarcastically.
My dad didnt answer, he just kept on walking.
Drake answered Johnnys question, Well back when Thomas and I had the ruby and the sapphire we found out that they worked best in this basement for some reason.
My dad stopped in the middle of the room and motioned for me and Johnny to stand in a circle that was drawn on the floor and was very worn out. He then held the two fused stones high over our heads. Within seconds they started glowing again!
Take your stones. my dad said while backing toward Drake, Now point them in front of you.
Okay Johnny and I said in unison.
Please be careful. my dad said with a slight tear in his eye.
Yeah try to come back in one peace will ya? Drake said with a laugh.
As we held the stones in front of us they glowed even b
Chapter 14Chapter 14
So what now? I asked.
We all thought for a minute.
My dad broke the silence, Well the Unknown letter did say that with the ruby and the sapphire you two can travel to the pokémon world All we have to do is figure out how to use them.
Again we all sat and thought for a while
Let me see your sapphire Anthony. said Johnny.
Umm okay Why? Do you have an idea? I said while handing the sapphire to Johnny.
Yup. Johnny said as he grabbed the sapphire from my hand.
Johnny then smacked the ruby and the sapphire together breaking them in half!
Umm whoops Johnny said quite embarrassed.
Oh great! Now we dont even have the ruby and sapphire anymore! I shouted in grief.
Just then both the ruby and sapphire started shaking and all four half started joining back into wholes again. Only this time one side was a ruby and the other a sapphire!
Well thats different!
Chapter 13Chapter 13
So Where are they? I asked.
Hang on a sec. Johnny said.
A couple minutes went by.
Oh for Oaks sake! They must be shy. Ill get em said Drake.
A minute later Drake came out of the house pulling a big orange and blue pokemon by the arm.
Drake introduced the pokemon, This heres Typhlosion. But I like to call him Volcano.
Volcano stood there with its head held low and looking embarrassed.
Hes a little shy But dont question his ability, hes a great battler.
Aww it just needs to get used to us. I said aloud.
So I walked up to Volcano and started petting it. This surprised him and he let loose a huge amount of flames on me and set my hair on fire! Needless to say I did exactly as Johnny and jumped into the nearest snow pile head first!
Smooth move there Thomas. Johnny chuckled.
I guess Ill leave the getting used to to you.
Chapter 12Chapter 12
Ill choose Latias!
The Red and white Pokemon in line gave out a cheerful cry.
I see said my dad, Latias should be a lot easier to work with, compared to Swampert. Although Latias will be very shy and not always willing to battle
Im just picking all the best ones arent I? I said with obvious sarcasm.
My dad gave a little chuckle and nodded.
Ahhhh!!! HOT!!! HOT!!! HOT!!! Get it off!!! Get it off!!! Get it off!!! someone was shouting from my house.
My father and I looked to see Johnny running out of the house with his butt ablaze.
Make way! he shouted as he jumped, butt-first into a snow pile, Ahhh
Troubles? I said, almost bursting out in laughter.
Johnny, finally finished soaking in snow jumped out of the pile and said, No not really. One of my new partners just got a little excited.
Drake came staggering out of the house holding
Chapter 11Chapter 11
Anthony Id like to introduce you to swampert.
My father gestured toward the big blue and orange figure now standing where my dad threw the pokeball.
Okay... I answered, still confused, So I have to pick from these?
Yup. Now choose wisely.
Without think I just blurted out my first answer.
I want Swampert!
A-are you sure? I mean Swampert can be a little disobedient to people it doesnt know my dad with a slight tremor in his voice.
Yeah, Im sure. That one looks way tough! I exclaimed.
Swampert just crossed its arms and turned away from me. My dad went over to swampert and started talking to it.
Now Swampert, I know you dont want to go with my son but I need you to Just think of it this way, if your successful in helping my son then that will have proved that you can be great even without your original trainer! So what do you say buddy? Will you hel
Chapter 10Chapter 10
I gazed at the marvelous creatures that came out of all of the Pokeballs. My dad turned to his Pokemon and started talking to them.
Its been a while guys! Id like you to meet my son. he pointed at me, He is in great need of your services. He will pick two of you to go on an adventure with him.
The Pokemon looked both shocked and confused.
I understand this may not make a lot of sense. But it will. I ask you, whoever he picks to please be on your best behavior and give it your all. I consider this the ultimate test of your skills.
Upon hearing this all the Pokemon rose up and gave a loud cry.
Great! Thats what I want to hear! Now, Sound off! Meganium!
A huge green Pokemon with a flower around its neck gave out a cry.
This Pokemon snapped its huge jaws and gave a cry.
This Pokemon drew out two cannons from its shell, shot two streams of water into the air, and gave
A Bloody, Stupid Miracle The day we’d cured the human condition was the day I put a bullet through my head and didn’t die. It was also the day I realized how scared I actually was of death, and after hours of muscle ache from holding that gauze against my open skull, after the wound closed and everything went back to normal, I had myself a good old-fashioned brainstorm. How ironic.
But when summer came, everything had fallen to shit. The air scorched my skin and parched my tongue every time I took a breath. The sun glared down on a rapidly-collapsing world, full of the undying bastard children of cruelty and misfortune. What was one to do when their cells regenerated faster than they decomposed?
My feet hit the pavement, now littered with jagged bits of glass to snap at my toes, thoroughly baked by the blazing ball of bitter disdain high overhead. Today was worse than yesterday. Though I’d often wondered the purpose of it anymore, I
